Participating in a Discussion with INADEH Students
Students from various courses at the National Institute for Vocational Training and Human Development (INADEH) had the opportunity to learn more about the Puerto Barú in David project during a discussion with representatives of this major port project being developed in David, Chiriquí.
INADEH is the institution responsible for vocational training and technical education in Panama, with centers throughout the country offering courses in areas such as automotive mechanics, civil construction, electrical work, hospitality and tourism, among other specialties aimed at preparing skilled workers to enter the labor market.
During the discussion, Astrid Carreño, Regional Communications Coordinator, provided students with details about the Puerto Barú project, explaining its scope, Environmental Management Plan, and the different stages of development contemplated for the port initiative in David, Chiriquí.
During the session, the importance of having a skilled workforce was highlighted, as well as the key role institutions such as INADEH play in preparing young people from Chiriquí, who will be able to access the employment opportunities generated by the project. It was also emphasized that the technical training students receive through these courses will enable them to respond to the need for qualified personnel that Puerto Barú will require throughout its different stages of development.
