We are advancing biodiversity protection from the initial stages of the project.

As part of the initial cleanup and site preparation work for the Puerto Barú project in David, Chiriquí, we have simultaneously undertaken a fundamental responsibility: the protection and conservation of wildlife in the surrounding environment.

Since the start of operations, we have implemented a specialized technical process for wildlife rescue, handling, and relocation, successfully and safely transporting more than 95 species. These include birds, reptiles, rodents, and other species native to the local ecosystem, all identified and managed under strict environmental protocols.

Each rescue is carried out with qualified technical support, prioritizing animal welfare and minimizing any risk during capture, handling, and transport. Subsequently, we relocate the species to areas previously authorized by the Ministry of Environment, selected for offering habitat conditions similar to their original environment, which facilitates their adaptation, survival, and the balance of biodiversity.

These actions reflect our commitment to responsible environmental management from day one, integrating the conservation of natural resources as a cross-cutting axis of project development and reaffirming our vision of growth in harmony with the environment.
