First step toward educational transformation in Chiriquí.
The Nuevas Rutas Foundation of Puerto Barú in David launched the first workshop of the “Leader in Me®” program at the School of Chiriquí, marking the formal beginning of the strategic partnership with Greatness Center to transform the educational culture of the province.
The opening session, titled “Vision and Commitment,” brought together teachers and administrative staff in a space for reflection on the present and future of their educational community. During the session, participants worked on identifying where the school stands today, where they want to move forward as a community, and what collective strategies they can build to strengthen leadership from within. Possible challenges within the process were also discussed, and joint action plans were designed to overcome them.
The “Leader in Me®” program, developed in partnership with FranklinCovey Education, seeks to foster leadership, autonomy, and self-management skills among students, while encouraging more active and collaborative participation from families within the educational community. Over the course of three years, from 2026 to 2028, we will support more than 400 members of the educational community, including 269 students, teachers, administrative staff, and parents, through training sessions, coaching, workshops, and specialized tools.
The enthusiasm and commitment were evident from day one. This marks the beginning of a process that will transform the school culture in Chiriquí and prepare students with the skills required for the 21st century.
We firmly believe that education is the foundation of sustainable development. That is why, through the Nuevas Rutas Foundation, we continue investing in the children of Chiriquí and the communities that surround them.
