What is Puerto Barú?

Puerto Barú in David, Panama’s first green port

Puerto Barú in David will be Panama’s first green port and the largest private investment in Chiriquí’s history. A multipurpose project connecting the western region with the country and the world through a sustainable logistics, agribusiness, and tourism model.

More than port infrastructure, it will be a platform for regional development—capable of handling all types of cargo, creating jobs, boosting the economy, and positioning Chiriquí as a new logistics and investment hub for Panama and Central America, powered by renewable energy and a sustainable vision.

Purpose

Connecting Chiriquí with the region and the world

Puerto Barú was born with the purpose of transforming Chiriquí and Panama’s western region by connecting it with new logistics, trade, and investment opportunities—driving sustainable development from Chiriquí to the world.

We believe in a new way of building infrastructure—one that places people, communities, and the planet at the center of every decision.

A multipurpose port designed to drive regional development

Sustainability

A green port vision

We designed a port with a forward-looking and sustainable vision. Puerto Barú will be Panama’s first green port, operating on 100% renewable energy and protecting local ecosystems.

Thirty percent of the land will be set aside for conservation, including an ecological corridor and botanical garden, while driving the regional economy and reducing logistics costs. More than infrastructure, it’s an efficient and responsible port model, created alongside communities, businesses, academia, and government.
